Local governments and community partners are invited to request letters of support from the Des Moines Area MPO for grant applications or other funding requests.
Criteria for MPO letter of support
The Des Moines Area MPO offers letters of support for projects and programs for which funds are being requested that meet one or more of the following criteria:
- The project or program is in the Transportation Improvement Program
- The project or program is identified as a goal, strategy or initiative of The Tomorrow Plan or related plans, including:
Preferred Sustainability Status
Grant applicants seeking federal funds may be eligible to receive Preferred Sustainability Status. The Greater Des Moines region achieved Preferred Sustainable Status through the development and adoption of The Tomorrow Plan, a forward-thinking plan for the sustainable development of the region over the next 40 years.
