MPO Fast Facts: Back to School

A recent MPO survey found that the mode of transportation utilized to travel to and from school has changed drastically over the years. Approximately 60 percent of respondents rode the bus to school when they were children, and approximately one-third of respondents walked; less than 4 percent traveled to and from school by automobile.

Now, according to the survey, approximately 60 percent of students travel to and from school via automobile; nearly 40 percent via bus; and less than 4 percent by walking.
