The Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a study of the area referred to in the attached map as the Des Moines Area Rail Port (DMRP). This study will analyze the current rail and freight network, determine impacts of approved and proposed changes to the network, and study economic benefits. The study will consist of a series of four primary tasks, along with associated deliverables that are detailed below. Other team members include: Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT), Greater Des Moines Partnership (GDMP), City of Des Moines Economic Development, and members of the MPO’s Freight Roundtable.
