Applications are being accepted now through December 1, 2015, for the grant money in the federal fiscal year 2020 from the Surface Transportation Program and the Transportation Alternative Program of the Des Moines Area MPO.

The Surface Transportation Program (STP) provides flexible funding that may be used by states and localities for transportation projects.  The intent of these projects is to preserve and improve the conditions and performance on any federal-aid highway, bridge, public road, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure and transit capital projects. Each year, approximately $12 million is available in STP funding for the Greater Des Moines region.
