Policy Committee

The MPO Policy Committee – often referred to simply as the MPO – meets on the third Thursday of the month, nine months of the year. Open to the public, meetings begin at 4 p.m. and are held in the Burnham Room at the MPO office, located at 420 Watson Powell, Suite 200, in Des Moines, Iowa 50309. Dates and times are subject to change.
The meetings for 2022 are as follows: January 20, February 17, April 21, May 19, June 16, August 18, September 15, October 20, and November 17. No meetings are scheduled for March, July or December.
The regular meetings for 2023 are as follows: January 19, February 16, April 20, May 18, June 15, August 17, September 21, October 19, and November 16. An additional, special meeting has been called for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, January 12. No meetings are scheduled for March, July or December.
The Policy Committee receives recommendations from the TTC and the Executive Committee before taking formal action on transportation issues. Urbandale Mayor Bob Andeweg is the Chair, Norwalk City Council Member Stephanie Riva is the Vice Chair, and Clive City Council Member Ted Weaver is the Secretary/Treasurer.
