MPO staff has drafted an Active Transportation Plan titled InterCONNECT, an update of the MPO’s 2009 CONNECT: Central Iowa Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation Action Plan 2020. This plan evaluates the existing active transportation network, provides a safety analysis, and identifies regional planning considerations. The draft of InterCONNECT is accessible on the project’s page on the MPO website for review. Feedback for this plan will be made available on the MPO website on Monday, August 31, and will stay open for 20 days. InterCONNECT was also presented at the MPO Active Transportation Roundtable on September 9 for feedback. The plan will come back to the MPO committees in October for approval.
