The Tomorrow Plan Steering Committee and Implementation Team

The Tomorrow Plan Steering Committee was developed in 2010 to guide the creation of The Tomorrow Plan, which is a plan that provides a vision for the Greater Des Moines Area’s future that focuses on the economy, the environment, community vitality, and regional cooperation. The plan’s goals are to create a resilient regional economy, improve the region’s environmental health and access to the outdoors, further the health and well-being of all residents in the region, and increase regional cooperation and efficiency at all levels.

Since the plan’s completion and adoption by Des Moines metro communities in 2013, The Tomorrow Plan Steering Committee has transitioned from developing the plan to implementing the plan’s goals and many objectives. In 2015, a smaller Implementation Team was created to focus on devising and carrying out implementation tactics.
