Three designated committees form the structure of the MPO: the Transportation Technical Committee (TTC), the Executive Committee, and the MPO Policy Committee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The MPO Representative Handbook<\/a> provides an overview of the Des Moines Area MPO, including requirements, members, committees, and the decision-making process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The MPO Policy Committee \u2013 often referred to simply as the MPO \u2013 meets on the third Thursday of the month, nine months of the year. Open to the public, meetings begin at 4 p.m. and are held in the Burnham Room at the MPO office, located at 420 Watson Powell, Suite 200, in Des Moines, Iowa 50309. Dates and times are subject to change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Policy Committee receives recommendations from the TTC and the Executive Committee before taking formal action on transportation issues. Urbandale Mayor Bob Andeweg is the Chair, Norwalk City Council Member Stephanie Riva is the Vice Chair, and Clive City Council Member Ted Weaver is the Secretary\/Treasurer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The 2024 meeting schedules are as follows: January 18, February 15, April 18, May 16, June 20, August 15, September 26, October 17, and November 21. The Executive Committee then offers its recommendations to the MPO Policy Committee.
