However, the illustrative projects are being added to the long-range transportation the plan to show the public what possible improvements could be made to the region\u2019s transportation network in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 11 illustrative projects range from trail connections to new highways. <a href=\"https:\/\/dmampo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Appendix-L-Illustrative-Projects.pdf\">Click here for the full list.<\/a> Notable examples include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A Northeast Beltway from Interstate Highway 80 \/ U.S. Highway 65 to Interstate Highway 35.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A Southwest Bypass from Interstate Highway 80 to Veterans Parkway \/ Interstate Highway 35.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A North-South Metro Connector from Interstate Highway 235 to Highway 415.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The 11 illustrative projects would cost an estimated $1.4 billion dollars. That would be in addition to the approximately $600 million in projects that cities, counties, and transit agencies of the metropolitan planning area are planning to invest over the next 30 years.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The public can review the projects and leave comments now through August 14, 2020, using an <a href=\"https:\/\/dmampo.maps.arcgis.com\/apps\/PublicInformation\/index.html?appid=b36a6b6f47e644e1a4cb7aec2fec7568\">interactive online map<\/a> on the MPO\u2019s website. Comments can also be shared at an <a href=\"https:\/\/us02web.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tZIudeigrzgvE9RTi9gSHdCce1sewfYORw9U\">online public meeting<\/a> 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, via Zoom. <a href=\"https:\/\/us02web.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tZIudeigrzgvE9RTi9gSHdCce1sewfYORw9U\">Click here to register<\/a>.
