Des Moines Area Regional Transit (DART)Manage the transit fleet, such as through monitoring on–board system statuses, electric charging, or scheduling preventative and corrective maintenance.
Communicate changes in transit services through local media and other local agencies.
Coordinate with local public safety departments regarding any threats to physical security.
Maintain physical security of transit passengers, public areas, and transit vehicle operations through monitoring transit vehicles and other infrastructure surveillance and sensor equipment.
Count transit passengers through sensors onboard vehicles and communicate information back to transit management center for storage and processing.
Collect electronic and manual payment of fares on–board transit vehicles, transit stations, or electronic payment devices (such as smart phones, tablets, or personal computers).
Provide transit informational services through transit stop annunciation, arrival signs and departure boards, and real–time transit schedule displays.
Support traveler information requests on the RideDart website and MyDART app to obtain transit routes, stops, and schedules using personal devices (such as smart phones, tablets, or personal computers).
Monitor and track transit vehicles in real–time to determine schedule adherence, trip performance, and update transit schedules.
Provide fixed–route and flexible–route transit services and dispatch the appropriate transit vehicles.
