The FFY 2023-2026 Transportation Improvement Program has been approved by the MPO (July 2022) and the Iowa Department of Transportation (October 2022).
Please direct any requests for changes to the FFY 2023-2026 TIP to the MPO. Changes may take the form of amendments or administrative modifications.
An amendment is required when there is a major change to the current TIP, such as the addition or deletion of a project, a Federal Aid increase of 30% or greater (or by more than $2,000,000) to the project, additional Federal Aid funding, change in project phase initiation dates, or a major change in the design concept or scope (e.g., changing project termini or the number of through lanes). An amendment requires the approval from the MPO Policy Committee.
An administrative modification is required when there is a minor change to the current TIP, such as a project with a Federal Aid increase of less than 30% (or less that $2,000,000), changes from one funding source to another, and changes to the project or project phase initiation dates previously included in the TIP. An administrative modification does not require approval from the MPO Policy Committee.

Transportation Capital Improvement Program (TCIP)
The Transportation Capital Improvements Program (TCIP) was a list of transportation projects occurring within in the next five years in the MPO region, regardless of which government is sponsoring the project and whether the funding is local, state or federal. The TCIP included only projects actively worked on in some form, such as right-of-way acquisition, environmental review or construction. As of 2020, the TCIP is no longer developed/updated.
